12 year Kashmiri boy Mehrajuddin sings for Sikandar

MUMBAI: Twelve year old school boy – Mehrajuddin sung a song in BIG Pictures and Sudhir Mishra’s co-production Sikandar.

Mehrajuddin also hosted a live on-air show on BIG 92.7FM where he sang for the audience his song – ‘Aarzoo’ from the film.

Director Piyush Jha discovered Mehrajuddin while on a location hunt and gave him an opportunity to sing for his film. Looking out for school location landed Jha in the school where a morning assembly was going on and Mehrajuddin was singing the Naat.

BIG 92.7 FM station director Sringar Syed Jafery said, “Mehrajuddin has made this city proud with his achievement and hence, we as Srinagar’s No.1 FM station decided to play a host to this budding talent so that he can reach out to all. I am sure people of Srinagar will be thrilled to have this special child with them at their favourite FM station.”

As reported earlier by Businessofcinema.com, Sikandar is a film about a young boy who dreams about playing football for the National team. It’s about his aspirations and challenges and how his life unfolds when one day he finds a gun on his way to school. The film stars Parzaan Dastur, Ayesha Kapur along with R. Madhavan, Sanjay Suri & Arunoday Singh.

The film is slated to release in April 2009.
