MUMBAI: Iconic singer Lata Mangeshkar has lent her voice for a song in a Bhojpuri film titled Umariya Kaili Tohare Naam. The film is produced and directed by R S Dubey.
Confirms Dubey, “It is wonderful of Lata–didi to have given her consent to sing this number. It is only she, who could have rendered this melodious track. We have recorded the song at her Swarlata Studios. It was penned by Vinay Bihari and composed by Raam Laxman.”
He adds, “With this number, we have 11 songs in the film in the voices of Udit and Deepa Narayan, Sunidhi Chauhan and Indu Sonali. The shooting of the film is also in progress at Varanasi, Gazipur and Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh.”
The film stars veteran Bhojpuri folk singer Pawan Singh with Divya Desai in the lead roles, with Surendra Pal, Brajesh Tripathi and Pushpa Verma.
