Music Review: Race

Film: Race

Director: Abbas Mastan

Producer: Tips

Music Director: Pritam Chakravarthy

Lyrics: Sameer

Rating: 3/5

Pritam Chakravarthy has been stirring some great music for the industry this last year. He creates a soundtrack that would keep the masses glued. Well Race is not as good as Dhoom or Dhoom:2 but it’s definitely something worth listening.

This album promises some really rip-roaring and explosive musical chartbusters.

Once again Pritam proves his versatility, but giving a wide range of music – from the melodious Metro to Jab We Met and then from Dhoom to Race.

The title track “Race Sanson Ki” attracts you when it starts playing. The beats are hard and the strokes of guitar sets the rhythm flowing. Sunidhi Chauhan and Pritam’s find Neeraj Shridhar sound perfect for this song. However, the music seems very similar to the James Bond theme music. Well this is and outright chartbuster.

“Pehli Nazar Main” is a good hear for Atif Aslam’s voice that adds a distinct flavour to the song. His voice is the most unique sound and this song would be something that would be remembered for a while.

You hear the next track and you know where you’ve heard it before! “Mujhe Pe Jadoo,” where Sunidhi Chauhan teams up with Stereo Nation’s Taz and Apache Indian, is foot tapping. The entire feel you get is of a racy and captivating piece of music that is sure to make you groove.

Then we have “Zara Zara Touch Me,” which has oodles of seduction, sensuality and tons of sex appeal. The song does get a bit monotonous but with the visuals that go with it, it would be a treat to the music lovers.

“Dekho Nashe Main” is peppy and jumpy and once again it’s Sunidhi that steals the show. She is ably supported by Shaan and all in all this song sounds energetic and vibrant.
