Radio City enters Limca Book of Records

MUMBAI: Lucknow Radio City’s RJ Vera, host of the ‘Radio City Breakfast Show’ will be featured in the 2008 edition of Limca Book of Records for being the longest serving breakfast show radio Jockey on any private FM radio station in India.

RJ Vera has been hosting the breakfast show on Radio City since the FM station’s inception in Lucknow. For over six years now, she has been jumpstarting Lucknow mornings with the show.

Radio City 91.1 FM CEO Apurva Purohit said, “This is a moment of great pride for all of us at Radio City! This recognition from the Limca Book of Records goes to celebrate our people and their faith in the robust brand which is Radio City. Being the oldest players in the Indian private FM space, we learnt early on the imperatives of building a professional, people oriented environment – especially one that allows creativity to flourish and where performance is recognized. Our belief in our people is not just restricted to a vision but we actually walk the talk by investing in them!”

Purohit added, “It is indeed an honour to have our RJ Vera featured in the Limca Book! It is her consistency and sheer dedication to her organization that has made this achievement a possibility! Vera’s long term approach to her profile has made her a star in an industry where people need to realize that instability, in the long run neither benefits the RJ nor the organization!”

Vera stated, “It is actually a dream come true for me and one of one of the biggest milestones I have achieved so far! I wholeheartedly thank Radio City for believing in my capability and giving me a chance to be part of the lives of the people of Lucknow.”

Prior to joining Radio City, RJ Vera has also worked as a RJ with All India Radio.
