Radio City launches in Ahmedabad

MUMBAI: Radio City 91.1 FM has launched in Ahmedabad. This will be Radio City’s second station in Gujarat after the recent launch in Vadodara and the ninth in the country.

Radio City made its presence in the city in line with its ‘Whatte Fun’ mantra. The station was inaugurated by Radio City CEO Apurva Purohit. Also present at the launch was theatre and television personality Ketki Dave, who went live on-air, chatting up with listeners.

Purohit said, “Ahmedabad is a very important market for us and Radio City is glad to be a part of the lives of its people. At Radio City, our programming is backed by extensive research and we deliver content that is tinged with the local flavour. We have always catered to our audience’s demands while leveraging international radio expertise. We at Radio City give and will continue to give world class, yet localized content to our listeners. Innovation is key to listener stickiness and Radio City is known for pioneering innovative shows nationally. We are certain that the success and listener connect we have enjoyed in our markets will be duplicated in Ahmedabad as well.”

Marking its presence in Ahmedabad, Radio City has lined up interactive activities for listeners. Infusing fun, Radio City is conducting a contest ‘Jeeto Cash Tana-a-Tan’ starting 23 July, 2007 where 10 listeners can win cash from Rs 500 to Rs 1000 on the spot every day for a month between 4 – 8 pm.

These winners will get to meet Radio City RJs and may also get a chance to go on-air. In addition to this, Radio City will be on the move with the people of Ahmedabad.
