Radio Mirchi sweeps the 6th IRF Awards

MUMBAI: Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM emerged as a winner at the 6th Indian Radio Forum awards. It won 12 awards, which is the maximum number of awards won by any radio station.

Radio Mirchi won the awards for Best Breakfast Programme (Tamil) for Hello Chennai, Best Programme Broadcast after 11 am for Luv Talkies, Best Radio Programme (Bengali & Kannada) for Sunday Suspense and Chill Maadi, Best RJs of the Year RJ Ajai (Tamil), RJ Mir (Bengali), and RJ Anmol (Hindi non – metro), Radio Promo awards for RJ Hunt, Kaalikatha and Dengue promos.

Mirchi’s unique innovation Mirchi Mobile which took the brand to the mobile platform got the award for the best new media initiative for the year. This award is recognition of the innovative fiber of mirchi and its abilities to adopt new technologies to make the brand reach out to its listeners through various means.

The IRF Jury also acknowledged Mirchi’s contribution to music by awarding the Best On Ground/ Activation award to Mirchi Music Awards (MMA). MMA is again an initiative by Mirchi to celebrate and salute the people behind the Hindi music industry. Headed by Javed Akhtar, 2011 was the third season of MMA.
