Sanjay Dutt awarded by UNESCO, UN affiliated AIHRA
Mumbai: Actor Sanjay Dutt and Maanayata Dutt were awarded by United Nations director Shalini Dewan on the 60th year celebration and award ceremony held in Amritsar by All India Human Rights Association on 11 December.
The award on behalf of both was collected by Maanayata in Punjab, which was preceded by a march at Wagah border along with government officials, bureaucrats and ministers from Punjab on 10 December.
Sanjay is an epitome of strength, resilience and has been associated with various social causes. He has stood as a staunch supporter for the masses for many important social issues and Maanayata has been very active in propagating help for various social needs and has been spearheading many social organisations including damage, for the girl child; and We The People (along with Abu Farhan Azmi, Vijayta V Gandhi & Minica Chabbria), towards socio-political awareness amongst citizens of India.
Additionally, Dada Saheb Phalke Award winning filmmaker and ex-president of Film Production Association Ved Ram Gandhi was also awarded by AIHRA for his contribution of 35 years to the Indian film industry and for his support to needy members of various unions of our industry with financial and technical support through various policies introduced during his tenure.
The award by AIHRA was to highlight and reward this attitude of helpfulness towards the society.
