Race sequel to just retain Saif Ali Khan and Anil Kapoor

ROHINI BHANDARI

MUMBAI: The fact that Tips' last year's film Race is being taken forward to develop into a sequel, is known to all. However, what is not known until now is the actors that will be a part of the sequel.

While Race starred Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Anil Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu and Sameera Reddy; the sequel will only retain Saif Ali Khan and Anil Kapoor in the cast. Apart from them, all other actors will be replaced, and now there are reports on Kareena Kapoor being roped in for a role.

Tips' Ramesh Taurani says, "Currently we are working on developing a suitable plot for the sequel of Race. The sequel will surely have Saif and Anil. Since Akshaye and Katrina's track ended in the previous films only they will not be a part and all others will be replaced by new actors as the plot will be different this time."

When queried whether director duo Abbas Mastan will direct this sequel, Taurani says, "Our first option is Abbas Mastan, but we all will take a final call after the script is ready."

The film will be ready to go on floors by this year end.
