Mam Movies announces I am the Change Film Project

Mumbai: Mam Movies has announced its unique filmmaking event called that runs under the name I am the Change Film Project. This event invites 101 filmmakers from across India to make films on 101 NGOs based in four metropolitan cities within a time-span of 101 hours. The shooting event will take place from 3-7 July.

At the start of the event, the NGOs will be randomly allocated to the filmmakers. The following 101 hours will see the filmmakers conceptualizing, shooting and editing a five-minute video which captures the true essence of the working of the NGO.

All the 101 films would be shown as part of a film festival held in Mumbai at the Cinemax Theatres, Versova between the 4-7 August. On 1 August (PLS CHECK DATE) there would be a premier of the final films selected.

OOH Media, one of the partners of the project, is also organizing a sub-contest wherein the participant filmmakers could make an additional short trailer of their films, the time duration of which should be less than 59 seconds.

Anupam Kher along with his acting school Actor Prepares would also be awarding the winner of the Best Film in the Children's Category with a trophy and a prize money of Rs. 51,000. Kher had awarded the same last year too. Actor Prepares is also the talent partner of the project through which the participant filmmakers can contact the acting school for hiring actors during the 101 hours.

The whole idea behind the entire event is to make sure that the young filmmakers of our country can connect with the prevalent social causes and use this creative medium to tell the stories of the people trying to make a positive change in society. The time limitation adds an extra element of excitement to the entire project.

The supporters of the I am the Change Film Project 2008 are Anupam Kher, Ashoke Pandit, Kabir Bedi, Farooque Shaikh, Goldie Behl, and world renowned author and speaker Sir Ken Robinson.
