MUMBAI: It was a star-studded evening in Mumbai on Saturday, as Bollywood literally outshone the stars overhead!

Recently launched format of awards in India, the People’s Choice Awards, saw the Bollywood brigade in near full attendance. The top stars were all seen at the first annual People’s Choice Awards, launched by Colors TV in association with Pantene.

The crème de la crème of B’town was spotted enjoying the democratic awards night, with our top stars in attendance.

Reigning superstars like Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan were seen at the event. The duo was recently crowned numero uno by a Celebrity Rating Index.

And they sure looked to be enjoying their official crowning, as they were seen in their most stylish and Bollywood-esque avatar. Salman was seen in his usual bad-boy look; tight black muscle tee (from his own line of clothes, ‘Being Human’), blue jeans and brown leather jacket.

The ‘Dabbang’ Khan looked oh-so-cool and fit in his preferred style.

Kareena looked radiant and dazzled the red carpet in a white off-shoulder gown, and her hair swept up in an elegant chignon. The newest Khan in town looked pleased to be right on top, where she belongs, and exuded charm and sophistication on the red carpet.

The two other reigning divas, Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif took their cue from the erstwhile Begum, and sported white outfits to complete the look: ‘White Beauty’ of the Bollywood Trinity.

Priyanka sizzled in a short, strapless off-white number, and Katrina revisited her baby doll look with a white tiered dress and flowing curls. Probably in an attempt to quell all rumors of a tiff between the two, Priyanka went upto Katrina and hugged her just before collecting her ‘Best Debut’ in international singing award.

Women power ruled at the People’s Choice Awards, with TV czarina Ekta Kapoor, looking chic in a red off white dress, Hema Malini in her gorgeous rani pink sari and Madhuri Dixit Nene in a floor-length red anarkali outfit.

Parineeti Chopra looked simple in a white outfit too. Not to be missed, was Rakhi Sawant, unusually demure in a yellow anarkali, minus the screaming-out-for-attention accessories or makeup!

The men too, looked dapper and stylish, with choreographer Prabhu Deva, director Subhash Ghai, Bollywood hottie Ranbir Kapoor, and screen legend Amitabh Bachchan (collecting the best host award for Kaun Banega Crorepati).

Ranbir was even given the ‘Icon of the Year’ award, one that he accepted with utmost humility and grace. Salman Khan left without collecting his two trophies but not before giving a standing ovation to Sonu Nigam who sang ‘Tenu mein love kar da’ from Desi Boyz.

All in all, the awards night saw some unbeatable fashion, some amazing dance performances and the usual dose of gaana-bajaana and comedy, as the host for the evening was ‘Vicky Donor’ star Ayushmann Khurana. Bollywood stars were in their element, as they graciously accepted awards, and performed their signature songs, with thumkas et al, for their adoring fans.
