MUMBAI: The first look poster of Ekta Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Ek Thi Daayan’  is out! The film, a romantic-thriller stars Emraan Hashmi, Konkana Sen Sharma, Kalki Koechlin, and Huma Qureshi.

The poster features Emraan Hashmi entwined in the hair of one of his leading ladies.

‘Ek Thi Daayan’ directed by Kannan Iyer focuses on the supernatural, especially witchcraft and the practices of black magic. The film’s first trailer  released with Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Matru ke Bijlee ka Mandola’ with the following quote: “Every High-Rise… Has a Hell… Every Hell Has a Queen… The Queen Must Return” It provoked the idea that black magic is practiced everywhere and there is an evil spirit in every building! The second trailer of ‘Ek Thi Daayan’ was unveiled on Salman Khan’s ‘Bigg Boss 6’ Season finale on 12 January, 2013. Ekta Kapoor and Emraan Hashmi were seen promoting their film at ‘Bigg Boss’ sets

We hear that ‘Ek Thi Daayan’ was shot entirely at ‘Film City’ at Andheri, Mumbai. Sources close to the film revealed that the director –Kannan Iyer had to try really hard to convince Emraan of the presence of the evil practice.“We often don’t pay attention to our immediate surroundings. But there are so many groups in our country that believe in these cults and they leave a certain mark in certain places. These signs and shapes have significance that is best known to them. I showed Emraan strange symbols and he was convinced,” said Iyer.

He further added: “We all like mysteries and have a fascination for black magic, witches and ghosts.”

This deadly-horror is coming to haunt you on 18 April, 2013. Until then keep a look-out for the ‘Dayaan’ in your house, we know we are going to!
