MUMBAI: Prodigal son of the king of comedy. Varun Dhawan, younger son of David Dhawan, recently confessed that he is dying to do a comedy.

Spotted at the launch of WeChat, a mobile messaging app, the Dhawan lad was forthcoming about his future plans and projects.

Varun and Parineeti Chopra were recently roped in as brand ambassadors for the mobile chat app, by China’s Tencent International, which has rolled out on iOS and Android platforms this year.

Looking uber fresh and cool, Varun and Parineeti were the poster children for young Bollywood, dressed casually in white and lime green: he in a lime green shirt and black trousers, she in a white tee and a cute green skirt.

Varun was a kid in a candy store, when he stated: “I am dying to do comedy. I am really excited to get into that!”

He is to start work with his Dad David Dhawan on ‘Main Tera Hero’, and expressed his anticipation by saying,”I am very excited to work with him (David), and not only because he is my father, but because he has done so many successful films before.”

Reiterating his exuberance, Varun smiled and stated: “I am very excited, especially after ‘Chashme Baddoor’. The film has done good business.”

Asked about his father’s working style, and if he can make suggestions and get things done his way, Varun categorically replied, “I cannot argue on the sets (with my father), otherwise I will be slapped!”

‘Main Tera Hero’, produced by Ekta Kapoor, goes on floors in June.
