Imran Khan In ‘Lootera’ Director’s Next?

Sources say Imran Khan has signed on for 'Lootera' director Vikramaditya Motwane's next called 'Bhabesh', based on a Gujarati novel.

MUMBAI: After the critical acclaim that ‘Lootera’ has received, director Vikramaditya Motwane is ready to move on to his next film. Sources say he has apparently signed on Imran Khan for his third film.

Adapted from a Gujarati novel, the film is titled ‘Bhabesh’. The film deals with a common man who vents his angst against the system.

A source says, “The main protagonist — to be played by Imran — is Gujarati. It is a heroic character that will show him in a completely different light. For the same, he has already been through three story sittings with Vikram before the director went on a break. And whatever he has heard is really impressive. Things are almost confirmed, but Vikram’s return from his break (after Lootera’s success) is awaited to finalise and lock every other detail.”

Imran Khan is currently bracing for the release of ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara’ on 15 August. He will also complete shooting for director Punit Malhotra’s ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’ by mid-September. Vikramaditya Motwane, too, should be back from his break by then.

Even though Imran Khan is known for his chocolate-boy looks and romantic roles, he has taken some risks along the way. Be it action in films like ‘Luck’ or ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara’, or a sex-comedy in ‘Delhi Belly’, or a satire in ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’, earlier this year. The source adds, “He is very kicked about working with a young director like Vikram. Imran is looking forward to work with different filmmakers and diverse scripts.”

It will be refreshing to see Imran Khan work with a sure hand in Vikramaditya Motwane.
