MUMBAI: Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala had recently tweeted about being unwell. She was in Kathmandu, redoing her house and she suffered a bout of food poisoning.
But just yesterday, the 42-year-old actress fell unconscious which is when alarm bells rang for her family. She was immediately flown into Mumbai and admitted to Jaslok hospital.
The PRO of Jaslok hospital, Krishnakant Dasyam, while admitting that the ‘1942: A Love Story’ actress is indeed in Jaslok hospital, has refused to divulge any details about her condition.
“We can’t reveal what tests are being conducted as the patient has requested us to maintain confidentiality,” he said.
But speculations that Manisha has been diagnosed with cancer are doing the rounds, because it is being rumoured that she is being treated by the hospital’s head onco-surgeon, Dr Suresh Advani. “All these reports are merely speculation. Her check-up is still not complete and her tests are being carried out. She is fine and is undergoing treatment. There has been no diagnosis as such,” the PRO has explained.
The actress had recently returned to Mumbai after her marriage with Nepali businessman Samrat Dahal did not work out. She even made her Bollywood comeback in Ram Gopal Verma’s ‘Bhoot Returns’. With her illness, she is now surrounded by family – her mother who brought her to Mumbai, her brother Siddharth and a few more immediate family members.
