MUMBAI: Kiran Rao, wife of Aamir Khan turned forty on November 07, 2013. Aamir whisked her away for a romantic moment in Assam to bring in her birthday.
Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao stayed at a private resort inside Nameri National Park in Sonitpur district. Also spotted with the duo was producer, director, host and now a Bollywood actor Karan Johar.
With a bowler hat, his trademark ‘Dhoom 3’ hat, Aamir and Kiran were received with the traditional Assamese ‘Gamosa’ (scarf) by the Sonitpur district. They later also visited the Kaziranga National Park.
According to sources, even Azad Rao Khan was with them. Aamir was spotted playing with his son in the lawns of the resort.
Kiran Rao started her career with a two bit role in the film ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, but her big break came in when she got a chance to assist Ashutosh Gowariker in ‘Lagaan’. It’s during the making of ‘Lagaan’, that Aamir and Kiran bonded. They tied the knot in 2005, after Aamir divorced his first wife and childhood sweetheart Reena Dutta in 2002.
Very few people know that actor Aditi Rao Hydari is Kiran’s maternal cousin. Kiran scripted and directed the film ‘Dhobi Ghat’, which was released in January 2011 under Aamir Khan Productions.
Aamir and Kiran shocked everyone when they openly declared that their son Azad Rao Khan, born on December 05, 2011, was through a surrogate mother.
On the professional front Kiran is busy scripting her next film that is based on the lives of people in Kolkata. Aamir Khan is busy with the promotion of YRF’s ‘Dhoom 3’ in which he is paired with Kartina Kaif for the first time. The film also stars Jackie Shroff, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra.
Aamir Khan is essaying a role of a joker with grey shades. ‘Dhoom 3’ is all set to release on December 20, 2013.
