You may remember the Pied Piper of Hamelin, who played on a flute and lured children away. This German legend has been used extensively in pop culture, and in Bollywood, this term cannot be applied to anyone but Shah Rukh Khan.

The Pied Piper of Bollywood knows how to get the crowd moving to his tunes. Take for instance, the promotions of ‘Chennai Express’ in Bhopal, Ahmedabad or Kolkata. Crowds wait all day, be it in sun or in rain, to get a glimpse of their superstar, even if it is for a few seconds.

It helps that Shah Rukh Khan knows how to charm his way into people’s hearts. Be it boys or girls, everyone, equally, is enthralled by his ways.

And it’s not just India that is enamoured by Shah Rukh Khan’s ways. He enjoys a fervent fan following in Dubai, the UK, Germany (and many other European nations).

It goes without saying that it is partly due to Shah Rukh Khan’s enthusiasm of mingling with his fans that they love him that much in return. For ‘Chennai Express’, he has been all over, and so has the crowd.

Shah Rukh Khan must definitely be hoping that the crowd also cheers for him in theaters, come 9 August.
