Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu’s much anticipated film Brahmotsavam is catching up speed with the film’s casting. While actress Rakul Preet Singh had already been roped in to essay the lead role, it looks like Bollywood’s Mannara Chopra also known has Barbie Handa, has auditioned to play the second female lead in the film. Brahmotsavam will mark Mahesh Babu‘s debut in the Tamil film industry and is thus a very big deal for the actor and his fans.
Talks of the actor romancing three heroines in the film have been doing its round for quite some time now. Now with the news of Mannara being roped in to romance the actor, it looks like the buzz is proving to be true. Mahesh Babu who has had number of his Telugu films dubbed in Tamil is looking forward to finally doing a film in Kollywood. The actor was earlier supposed to enter Tamil film industry under Mani Ratnam‘s direction but the project got shelved due to budget issues.
Mannara Chopra who is one of Bollywood’s most successful actress Priyanka Chopra‘s cousin made her debut with 2014’s film Zid. After doing only a handful of films, Mannara is still trying to establish her acting career. A film with actor Mahesh Babu who has mass following in south industry will certainly give Ms. Barbie Handa the required boost. If all things fall into place, the actress will soon share the screen space with him. Mannara has appeared in Telugu film Prema Geema Jantha Nai and has made special appearances in Tamil films Sandamarutham and Kaaval.
Brahmotsavam is directed by Srikanth Addala and produced by Prasad V Potluri of PVP Cinemas. Mickey J Meyer has given the music of the film. Edited by Sreekar Prasad, Rathnavelu has done the cinematography. The film is scheduled to hit theaters around the festival of Sankranti in January 2016. Mahesh Babu is currently wrapping up his film Srimanthudu set to release on July 17, 2015.
