[tps_footer]‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ star Karan Patel is a socially conscious and responsible citizen and a lot more than just an actor who knows nothing much about the real world’s problems. In fact, he is so socially aware and informed about the severe drought situation the country is facing that he decided to put a shoot on hold rather than waste water. Yes, we are also equally shocked and impressed!
Patel was so upset that a lot of water would be wasted in a shooting sequence, that he simply refused to shoot for the “Yeh Hai Mohabbatein” scene. The shoot was for a romantic track that called for artificial rain. Realizing that a large amount of water would be wasted in shooting this scene, Karan decided not to shoot.
“I thought the scene was avoidable considering the water crisis we are facing. We at our level should try our best to save and conserve water. I feel it’s our duty as we are looked up to by people. This is the least we can do as actors. So I asked the production house to manage and create a scene where they do not have to use water,” Karan said in a statement.
Balaji Telefilms that produces the TV soap conceded and decided to tweak the scene in order to ensure that water was not wasted considering the grave situation of the country right now. Once this was arranged, Karan had no qualms in continuing with the shoot. We are thoroughly impressed as we assume fans will be.
The show airs on Star Plus and also stars Divyanka Tripathi and Anita Hassanandani[/tps_footer]
