Pavan Kriplani who shot to fame with Ragini MMS is back with yet another horror film, Darr@The Mall, starring Jimmy Sheirgill.
One look at the trailer of Darr@The Mall and it is safe to say that it lacks the horror and is not a patch to the previous film from the same director. The entire film looks dark and dingy and one can see lots of scenes being lifted for Hollywood flicks. It actually reminds me of Mirrors 2, a 2010 American horror film which is a sequel to the 2008 film Mirrors.

Jimmy Sheirgill, who plays a mall security head in Darr@The Mall, says that shooting for the movie took a toll on the team's health, but he is sure that the movie will make its mark as a one of the best horror films made in Bollywood.
"This was one of the toughest films to shoot for me as it was mostly shot at nights and it took a major toll on our health. Not only this, the location of the shoot was actually eerie, which added to the bunch of challenges that we had to face while shooting for 'Darr@The Mall," Jimmy says.
For most part of the shoot, the unit had to be awake all nights and once the sun rose, they could sleep just for a couple of hours, as they had to follow their daily routine. Needless to say, this started affecting their body cycles and health. All we can hope is that their hard work pays off.
According to Pavan Kriplani, "Ever since I was a kid, I have been a fan of the horror genre and as a director it has always been my ambition to make classy horror films. After Ragini MMS, I felt that there is more to explore as far as horror films are concerned and Darr@ The Mall is my honest attempt to make a horror flick in the vein of classic Hollywood scare fares like The Exorcist and The Shining, which I have grown up watching.”
Set for release on February 21, 2014 Darr@The Mall, the movie has music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, while Ganesh Hedge has choreographed the dance numbers.
Produced by MSM Motion Pictures and Contiloe Entertainment Productions, the film also features actors like Arif Zakaria, Asif Barsa, Neeraj Sood, Nushrat Bharucha, Nivedita Bhattacharya, Shraddha Kaul and Jimmy Sheirgill.
