With the recent reports, director Kabir Khan’s film ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ becomes a part of a new controversy, as the makers of the film have been slapped by Rs 50-crore copyright infringement suit in the Bombay High Court.

According to the reports, the suit has been registered by writer, director and TV producer Mahim Joshi, alleging the infringement is ‘career damaging’. The suit claims that the writer Joshi intended to be the writer of the film. Not only that, the suit also includes that he intended to be also the director and a co-producer for the movie and it was supposed to be his launch project in movies, as said by Joshi.

All respondents have to file their replies by October 21.

The suit also claims that Joshi had registered his story in July 2007 with the Indian Film and Television Producers Council as well as the Association of Motion Pictures and TV Programme Producers. He also had an agreement with Yashi Multi Media (YMM) – a production house owned by Suresh and Vivek Oberoi. He was supposed to play the lead role in the movie at the time.

But unfortunately, none of the studios accepted it even after circulation. However after the five-year contract, as per claims Joshi approached other production houses but failed to do so. The case will now be heard on October 28.
