No more is Bollywood actress Ayesha Takia known as simply the Taarzan girl. Today, her identity is so much more.
The former model-turned-actress, the beautiful Ayesha Takia started her career at a very young age. When she was only 15 years old, she appeared in the famous advertisement for health drink brand Complan. The ad catapulted her and her fellow child-artiste Shahid Kapoor to stardom.
Ayesha was born on April 10, 1986, which makes her twenty eight years old as of today.
Ayesha’s formal entry into Bollywood came when she was cast for Falguni Pathak’s music video, Meri Chunar Udd Udd Jaye. Then, at the age of eighteen, Ayesh appeared in yet another hit music video – Shake it Daddy. This video got her noticed by many filmmakers, and eventually brought her her debut film.

Ayesha Takia made her acting debut in Taarzan: The Wonder Car. Incidentally, she had signed on to star in Imtiaz Ali’s Socha Na Tha much before Taarzan, but delays in the making of the former film meant that her debut vehicle was the car-based film, starring Vatsal Sheth.
In 2004, Ayesha won the Filmfare Best Debut award for her work in the film. In 2004, she also starred with Shahid Kapoor, in the multi-starrer Dil Maange More. She suffered a spate of average films at the Box Office, in 2005, including Shaadi No. 1, Super, Home Delivery and Shaadi Se Pehle.
Then in 2006, Ayesha Takia had a breakthrough, with the film Dor. The film was critically acclaimed, and Ayesha’s work brought her much praise from the audiences and the industry.
Since then, Ayesha starred in films like Salaam-E-Ishq, Fool and Final, No Smoking, De Taali, 8X10 Tasveer, Paathshala and Mod. Ayesha’s last release was in 2013.
In her personal life, Ayesha Takia is happily married to Farhan Azmi, restaurateur and son of Samajwadi Party leader Abu Asif Azmi.
The two wed in a glittering Nikaah ceremony in 2009. Ayesha has one son, who was born on December 06, 2013. Currently, she lives in Mumbai, and devotes all her time to her family.
