Kapil Sharma redefined the weekends with his show Comedy Nights With Kapil. Not only did the show create history, it also brought a smile on everyone’s face. Now as they say, that all good things come to an end; Comedy Nights With Kapil too will go off air from September 2014.
Kapil Sharma confirmed the news on twitter and wrote, “Comedy Nights With Kapil is going off air from September. We will come back with new characters and new set. Till then, Keep Smiling,”
Ever since Kapil Sharma has signed on Bank Chor, with Yash Raj Films; rumours were rife that he will reduce his television show Comedy Nights With Kapil and live show appearances in order to accommodate the film’s shooting.
Kapil did try to reason it out with the channel and stated that he would only air four episodes a month instead of the current eight, but the channel refused to pay heed to his request and finally Kapil Sharma had to take a decision.
“Initially, I had planned to do the show once a week during the shooting of my film. But the channel has rejected the idea. They are not ready to listen. I can’t create a bank of episodes for two months when I shoot my film because all the stars who come on Comedy Nights With Kapil do so when they are promoting their films and so I had to take a call.” stated Kapil Sharma.
Kapil also stated that this had to happen sooner or later as the film required him to shoot for about forty days at a stretch, something that he has already said yes to.
“Luckily for me, my film’s shooting is delayed by a few months because the rest of the casting is not complete. But sooner or later, I’ll have to face this problem. Maybe I will get a clone created and call the show, Hum Aapke Hain Clone.” said Kapil in his signature English.
Even before the discussion was made official, the channel has already conducted close door meetings with Optimystix Entertainment, the production house that has been producing Comedy Circus on Sony Entertainment Television to replace Comedy Nights With Kapil.
All said and done, it’s going to be very tough for the new show that’s being created by Optimystix Entertainment, to match up to the standards set by Kapil and his show Comedy Nights With Kapil.
Yes, we all agree that Comedy Nights With Kapil should be back post the season break but then it all depends upon what equation Kapil Sharma would have with the channel once he raps up his film shoot.
