There has been too much written about Sajid Khan‘s Humshakals that hit the silver screen on June 20, 2014. Humshakals has seen extremes – extreme negative reviews and suddenly th media is flooded with all positives about the film.
Humshakals has been steady as far as collections go in its first week end but what took us by surprise was the huge dip that Humshakals had on Monday (June 23, 2014).
According to reports so far Humshakals has managed to collect approximately Rs 405 million (Rs 40.50 crore) nett at the India Box Office, though one is still awaiting official reports.
Humshakals has been acquired by Fox Star India for approximately Rs 800 million (Rs 80 crore), now will the film be able to cover its cost only time can tell.
Next week, June 27, 2014 will see Ek Villain, starring Shraddha Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh, hitting the theaters and this will be followed by Vidya Balan‘s Bobby Jasoos on July 04, 2014.
Looks like both Ek Villain and Bobby Jasoos will give Humshakals tough competition as both the films are carrying great pre-release reports.
Having said this, Humshakals has only three days to collect as much money as it can at the Box Office. Also a lot depends on the kind of money Humshakals will get for its satellite rights as that may help recover its costs.
