Fardeen Khan ready for Qurbani

MUMBAI: Fardeen is ready to step into father Feroz Khan’s shoes… FK Jr will now essay the role of Rajesh that his father did in the 1980 blockbuster Qurbani.

Fardeen says, “We have already announced the remake of Qurbani. I am playing my fathers role. It is a contemporary subject which is 25 years old and holds good even today. The plot and the characters are contemporary and have a lot of scope.”

Fardeen feels that the film may just work wonders. “We have got tremendous reactions just with the announcements. Let’s hope for the best” he smiles.

The actor is also looking forward to his forthcoming film Pyaare Mohan which is slated for an April 21, release. Fardeen says, “It is a lovely role. I am Pyaare who is visually impaired and Mohan is deaf. It was a great experience working with Viveik. We had a great rapport, which extends on the screen and reflects in our work. It was a difficult role. We had to maintain the continuity and react accordingly at every moment. I think we make a great team together.

This is Fardeen second attempt at comedy. “The audience needs a break. I have done soft romantic roles until now. This is a very Indian story with positive characters in spite of having both male protagonists. We have lived life to the fullest,” he says.

The actor is now all geared up to portray different roles. “I have great films on hand. I want to experiment with different roles. There is Meghana Gulzar’s Honeymoon. We have not yet started shooting but the character has a certain understanding.

It is about a couple who have an arranged marriage who go on a honeymoon and start discovering each other. There are certain core questions that need to be addressed,” he says. Does being married help understand the role better? “To a certain extent yes, though I have had a love marriage. Certain inputs in life do help you to perform better,” he quips.
