MUMBAI: The second Mumbai International FICTS (Federation International Cinema Television Sportifs) Festival will be held from 2 to 5 March 2007 at the Fun Republic multiplex in Mumbai.
The Sport Movies & TV India FICTS Festival is the joint brainchild of Ten Films (India) Private Ltd and FICTS. The festival has two categories; sports based and non-sports.
In the former category, entries must have a strong connectivity with sports, be it feature film (over 85 minutes), short films (five to 45 minutes), super shorts (two minutes and less) and documentaries (any duration upto 120 minutes). In the latter category, the entry could be of any genre. Producers get a chance to compete for the prestigious Golden and Silver Ten Awards in each category, says an official release. The FICTS consists celebrities like Michael Periera, Shobaa Dey and Sarika.
Ritesh Sinha, who founded Ten Films India, has made War or Peace, a film that was distributed in India by Columbia Tristar Films. Says Sinha,”FICTS is a non-profit organisation with over 99 countries as its members. Sport Movies and TV has the patronage of the IOC (International Olympic Committee).”
Adds Sinha, “We will screen and exhibit 80 films from all over the world, out of which 15 films will be from India.”
