MUMBAI: Hairstylists Aalim (owner of Hakim’s Aalim) and Asha Hariharan (owner of Beyond the Fringe) recently displayed a set of hairdos called the ‘Jazz collection’ at the Hyatt Regency ballroom in Mumbai.
Organised jointly by Hair India People and L’oreal professionnel, the event also saw the two stylists conduct a workshop for other hair stylists present at the venue.
The event was also attended by other hairstylists, including Dilshad Pastakia, Coleen Khan, Kanta Motwani and Savio Pereira. Said L’oreal professionnel product division, India director Philip Giles, “We are glad to be able to provide, promote and encourage the new generation of hairdressers by developing their skills through such training, Workshops and seminars. We aim to set a benchmark in the country for professional hair experts who showcase such colections.”
The event also saw models Zulfi Sayed, Shawar Ali, Kapil and Kshitij walking the ramp, and sporting their new cuts and styles. The models scorching the ramp were seen dressed in clothes provided by designer Navin shetty.
Speaking at the event, Aalim said, “You shouldn’t always follow the technique, you need to constantly check the mirror to see if it looks good. You do need to be technically sound but what is even more important is that the end result needs to be good.”
He spoke about creating a style that would be remembered as the style for this year rather than saying ‘the 60s are back or the style of the 80s is in.’
