MUMBAI: Film exporter Humayu Rangila has just completed a Hindi film, titled Bombay To Goa, which stars several film and television actors, including winners of recent comedy talent hunts.
Rangila, who deals in selling satellite, electronic rights, video DVD, VCD rights and has business interests in London, launched Asia’s first satellite channel, TV Asia from London in 1989. Currently, Rangila has more than 100 negative rights and around 400 acquisitions of films, sources say. He is now also looking at revamping Jhankar TV into a full-fledged entertainment channel.
Says the film’s executive producer Hanif Chatriwala, “Bombay To Goa is our first production from our multiple ventures. The film is complete and we are looking at to release the film in May 2007. There are no heroes in the film. It’s full of gags and laughter. We have six songs to complete the album but have used only two, rendered by Bappi Lahiri and US based Pak singer Shehla Burney. Other than this film, we have three more films which are in various stages of production.”
