MUMBAI: After setting up its operations in Chennai, Prime Focus Ltd launched its fourth Mumbai facility today (24 April). Housing 150 animation and visual effects artists, this facility is aimed at growing the company’s business in the advertising and film segments.
The company already has three facilities in Mumbai that focus on varied aspects of the company’s business including, television, commercials and films, the company has invested a total of Rs 140 million (Rs 14 crores) in the 11000 sq. ft facility at Royal Palms, Mumbai.
Equipped with state-of-the-art animation and visual effects technologies including high end workstations, high speed networks, central data systems, the Royal Palms facility will help the company to further grow its business in these segments.
Prime Focus managing director Namit Malhotra said, “The M&E industry is still at a nascent stage with increased demand from international and local markets expected to increase significantly. In order to meet this growing demand we are ramping up our delivery capabilities in India like with the Royal Palms facility. Additionally with the acquisitions of VTR and Clear in UK recently, Prime Focus is well positioned to take on outsourcing of VFX, animation and post production projects coming in from both the US and UK markets. These initiatives are aimed at creating a seamless delivery model to service the global marketplace.”
