Box Office: Aamir Khan’s PK Breaks All Records

Box-Office-PkAamir Khan‘s “PK” that created a lot of controversies, is also making a lot of money.  Despite all the protest and demand for ban, “PK” has become highest grossing Bollywood film of all time. A happy New Year for whole “PK” team indeed!

PK” was released on December 19, 2014, and so far has collected Rs. 287 crore (2.87 billion) in India. The movie has touched Rs. 500 crore mark and is fast racing towards the Rs 600 crore club worldwide. Aamir Khan’s “PK” broke all the records, including his own by replacing the top position of Bollywood’s highest grossing film of all time, which was actor’s “Dhoom 3”.

Now, Aamir Khan has two movies in the top five list. First is “PK” and on number second stands his “Dhoom 3”, whereas at number three is Salman Khan’s “Kick” and behind him is Shah Rukh Khan’s “Chennai Express” on number four and “Happy New Year” on number five.

The way the film is going, it seems Aamir’s “PK” will definitely cross Rs. 300 crore (3 billion) mark by another week.

The day “PK” was released; the film received a lot of negative reviews, comments and even received threats from several religious groups. But it didn’t stop Rajkumar Hirani’s “PK” from progressing and becoming Bollywood’s highest grossing film of all time.

We all know how much “PK” has been dragged under controversies for some or other thing. The film have raised many questions, gave birth to a lot of controversies and protests. Not only that, but the right-wing Hindu outfits even demanded a ban on the film saying that it have hurt religious sentiments.

But with all ups and downs, “PK” is still doing amazingly well on screens and continues to break the old records by setting some new ones.
