Salman Khan had made a plea last year in Rajasthan regarding a stay on his conviction.
But the Supreme Court on Wednesday set aside the Rajasthan high court order that stayed Salman Khan’s conviction in blackbuck hunting case.
The apex court asked the High Court to decide Salman Khan’s plea again in which the trial court has sentenced him five year jail term.
Justice Mukhopadhyay said in his verdict that the filmstar could tell the court that he would suffer irreparable damage if his conviction is not stayed and he is eventually acquitted.

Last November, the high court altered the condition for travelling abroad and stayed the conviction after accepting that he had not been able to get UK visa due to his sentence.
Salman Khan’s abroad travelling is restricted as he has been given five year jail term sentence.
Salman Khan along with his co stars Sonali Bendre, Tabu, Neelam, Saif Ali Khan were accused of hunting the protected black buck animal in Rajasthan while they were shooting for their Hum Saath Saath Hain movie in 1998.
