In 2002, the doctor who collected actor Salman Khan’s blood samples at JJ Hospital after his hit-and-run case, informed Mumbai Court that he smelled alcohol on the actor’s breath. However, the clinical examination the ‘case paper’ only mentions that Salman Khan’s breath smelled, there was no specification that it smelt of alcohol.
Doctor Suhas Pawar was the medical examiner in Mumbai’s JJ Hospital when Salman Khan was brought in for the examination after the hit-and-run accident, told the court that the clinical examination showed no indication of alcohol inside Salman Khan’s body, the actor wasn’t drunk. As quoted in a daily, Dr said, “A policeman had come with Khan to the casualty department for carrying out an alcohol test. I had clinically examined Khan, and with his consent, collected a blood sample for further analysis.”

The actor is accused of killing one pavement dweller and injuring four others by crushing into a Bandra bakery with his Land Cruiser in September 2002.
Salman Khan is charged for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. If found guilty, the actor could spend 10 years in prison.
