Yesterday we reported that in Salman Khan’s hit and run case, chemical analyst Bala Shankar was asked to present in the court the blood samples taken during the time of accident. During the cross examination on Thursday, expert analyst told the court that he received 6 ml of the blood for the analysis during the time of the accident. Later, he said that when he measured the blood sample it was 4 ml.
Today during the cross-examination, the statement of the police constable was recorded before the magistrate who had taken blood sample from the Bandra police station to the lab. The constable said he took the samples to the lab on September 30, 2002 two days after the mishap as directed by the orders.
After the statement of the constable, the defense claimed that the witness is contradicting his statements than and now. On the raised question by the defense constable said that he was handed one sealed envelope and two sealed bottles.
The next hearing of the case would take place on February 16. During the next hearing a sub inspector would be examined who took Salman Khan for the blood test after the mishap to J.J. Hospital.
The trial had examined the analyst to establish that Salman had liquor before his car met with accident in suburban Bandra on September 28, 2002, killing one person and injuring four.The actor has denied that he was on the wheel during the accident in 2002. If convicted, he could spend up to 10 years in prison.
