Recent reports reveal that The Dirty Picture actor Emraan Hashmi has injured himself while training for director Tony D’Souza‘s upcoming film. It’s a biopic on former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin, so it requires Emraan to practice in order to master the role. According to reports, during the training, actor injured himself.

“Emraan had been prepping up for the Azharuddin biopic and was learning the nuances of the game when he hurt himself, ” a source revealed. Later, Emraan‘s spokesperson confirmed the news by saying, “Azhar is known to be a wristy batsman and Emraan was training for the same. While doing so, he injured his wrist and had been advised bed rest.”

The preparation for the film was supposed to begin last year itself, but due to Emraan Hashmi‘s son’s bad health, the film got pushed. And now Emraan has ended up hurting himself while training for the film. Seems like the year started on a rough note for the actor.

The director of the biopic praised the actor’s unyielding dedication and professionalism. “Despite the swelling in his hand, he kept practizing to get each and every nuance of Azhar right. This, along with the footwork of Azhar is very tough for anyone to master. But Emraan is training really hard for it. On some days Emraan does another two hundred balls in the evening,” said Tony D’Souza.

The film will go on floors this May.
