Sushant Singh Rajput plays the iconic detective, Byomkesh Bakshy in the film. His character has a dog who is named Winston.

The dog is named after the then Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Winston Churchill, taking a dig at the British ruling India. Dibakar Banerjee’s Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! is set in 1943, during the second world war when the British were ruling India.
