Adlabs ties up with KG Cinemas in Coimbatore

Mumbai: Adlabs, part of the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, has tied up with Coimbatore’s KG Cinemas for upgradation. The KG Theatre Complex was launched in 1981 as one of the first multiplexes in India with four screens and a seating capacity of 3030.

The multiplex will now be upgraded phase wise to international standards with Adlabs’ DTS sound, Xenon projection systems, plush seats along with food and beverage offerings. This will be KG Adlabs’ first cinema in Coimbatore.

The theatre complex as of now has one of the largest screens in the entire country and an average yearly footfall of two million. Since inception, it has screened several films which have run for more than 100 days and has entertained more than 50 million people, equivalent to the entire population of Tamil Nadu.

K G Entertainment Company executive director RS Prabu said, "Celebrating our 50 millionth customer in our 27th year, we are very glad to join hands with Adlabs Through the tie-up, we endeavor to offer the best film going experience and focus on quality film content. We are looking forward to expand our presence in the state."

Adlabs Cinemas COO Tushar Dhingra mentioned, "We have just begun to penetrate the Southern region and expect to capture a big market share in the South by end of 2008 through our tie up with KG Entertainment."

Adlabs Cinemas is the largest cinema chain in India and presently has 166 screens spread over 62 properties nationwide.
