Mumbai: With the release date of Rajshri Productions’ Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi approaching, the conviction is growing stronger that the film’s business be similar to Vivah.
Rajshri’s previous home production Vivah, directed by Sooraj Barjatya, had done a successful run in cities of CP, Berar, Saurashtra, Bihar, UP and Gujarat circuits. The movie even went on to complete 25 weeks at the box office at select theatres.
The movie is directed by Kaushik Ghatak and stars Sonu Sood and Eesha Koppikar.
Ghatak, who has been with Rajshri’s television wing since 2002 says, "Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi’s business will be similar to Vivah’s in the belts where Vivah fared well at the box office."
"The characteristics of Eesha and Sonu’s characters are that of people from small towns, therefore the small town people will relate to the characters in this movie," says Ghatak, adding, "But this will not hamper the movie’s business in big cities because basic human emotions are universal."
Koppikar seconds this saying, "Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi is a film for the loyal Rajshri audience and will do a good business in places where Vivah faired fell."
Vivah did an exceptional business in a few small towns in the above mentioned circuits. In Rajasthan the movie raked in Rs 40 million (Rs 4 crores).
