MUMBAI: Arena Animation recently concluded Drishti 2009, an annual animation exhibition and festival of arts.
Drishti 2009 – a five day programme, saw the participation of over 400 animators. The event was aimed at creating awareness about the animation industry and to highlight the growth prospects of animation as a career amongst the youth.
Arena Animation global head Anuj Kacker said, “Drishti 2009 has helped us to cultivate interest about animation as an attractive career option for the today’s generation. The event was successful in stimulating the environment of schedule bound competitiveness which the students are likely to experience while working in the animation industry. This also helped students in exposing their art to external evaluation and weaning them away from tool based to design and visualization based approach to graphic designing and digital media.”
The event was concluded with the campus interviews for the students of Arena Animation. Among the corporates who attended the campus interview included Infotech, Manikchand, Vitual Effects, Jagtap and Amtel.
“Our campus interviews have helped our students to get placements in some of the renowned companies, making this event worthwhile for them,” added Kacker
Among the activities organized at Drishti were showcasing the videos of Oscar nominated films, glass painting, mehendi competition, rangoli competition, T-shirt painting, network gaming, logo designing competition, 2D animation competition, web competition, video competition and 3D Backgrounds.
