MUMBAI: Abhay Deol turns producer with his maiden production Basra. He has recently signed actor Nikhil Dwevedi for the film.
Basra is a thriller dealing in drugs and human trafficking to be directed by Navdeep Singh, The film was earlier to be produced by Nikhil Advani and had Akshaye Khanna and Emran Hashmi in the leads but since Deol took over as producer the entire casting has also undergone change.
Deol is co producing the film with PVR films. While Deol will also act in the film and essay the role that Khanna was to do, Dwevedi will essay the role that was earlier given to Hashmi. Both Abhay and Nikhil have just finished filming for Ayesha and Raavan respectively.
