MUMBAI: Karan Johar’s My Name Is Khan, which stars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, will be released in China on 30 November. The movie’s premiere, which will be held in Beijing, is expected to be attended by Khan and Johar.
Each year China sees only 20 foreign language films being released in the country due to its strict policy toward foreign films. This year China has chosen MNIK as one of the foreign language films that will be released there. MNIK is also the first Hindi film to release in China in the last three decades.
Johar said, "It’s an honor, especially since China allows only the release of 20 foreign films a year. I can’t remember when the last time an Indian film released there was.”
Fox Star Studios India CEO Vijay Singh added, “The Chinese authorities are really hard on foreign films. To be asked to release Khan is an amazing honour.”
