He entered the Bollywood industry in the character of a musician and took the industry by a storm for his convincing portrayal of an alcoholic singer-composer. Aditya Roy Kapur did his act so convincingly that it seemed to most people that he was actually playing the guitar and singing.
Rewind to his college days, Aditya had revealed that when he was a student at St. Xavier’s College, he was part of a band that performed at St Cathedral’s for a 12th standard farewell bash. The main reason behind that was to check out girls.
He is not just a good singer and plays the guitar well, but he has penned down over 40 songs. It was at the set of Aashiqui 2 when he played for the cast and crew of the movie, that Shraddha Kapoor, his co-star insisted that he should do something with that talent of his and not just limit it as a hobby.
Seems like he took the advice of the ‘good friend’ Shraddha extremely seriously and he is cutting his solo album that should be out next year. Talking about it to a leading daily, he said, “It’ll be in English, some form of rock, with songs I’ve written and guitar, drums and electronic,” he informs, adding that he’s interested in giving playback only if his voice enhances the composition.
Wow, looking forward to that. Seems like after Priyanka Chopra, it is Aditya who is all set to establish himself in the music industry.
Besides his solo album, Aditya is also gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie OK Jaanu early next year, which is the Hindi remake of Mani Ratnam’s 2015 Tamil romantic drama, ‘O Kadhal Kanmani’.
