Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah Writer Taarak Mehta Passes Away! Fans React

Veteran Indian columnist, humorist, writer and playwright, Taarak Mehta passed away at 87 today morning in Ahmadabad. He passed away at 87 after a prolonged illness. Taarak Mehta garnered huge popularity for his column Duniya Ne Undha Chasma in Gujarati language and had been honoured with Padma Shri and with many such prestigious awards.

Mehta has translated and adapted several comedies into Gujarati and one of them is the longest running Hindi television show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah that started back in 2008 on Sab TV. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is the translated version of Taarak Mehta’s Gujarati column Duniya Ne Undha Chasma.

Saddened by the death, Gujrat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani tweeted, “Saddened by the death of Taarak Mehta – humorist & columnist. He always brought smile to our faces. My condolences to family members.”

Soon after the news was out on Wednesday morning, fans started pouring condolence messages on social media.
