Arshad Warsi’s bungalow in Versova gets partially demolished by BMC on accounts of illegal construction!
Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi has fallen into a legal trouble as his residence at Versova, Mumbai has been noticed for illegal construction. It was on Monday when Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) decided to demolish the second floor of Warsi’s bungalow.
Reportedly, the bungalow was locked at the time of the act. It was only a symbolic demolition to warn the actor.
According to a report of Times Of India, “BMC had stuck a demolition notice on the bungalow No. 10 in Air India Co-operative Society (Shantiniketan), giving Warsi 24 hours to remove the illegal construction of second floor (around 1,300 sq ft). As there was allegedly no response from the actor, BMC carried out the partial demolition on Monday.”

When the actor was approached by the media portal, he confirmed the news texting back, “It’s true.”
The report also states that, “BMC officials said they would issue another notice to Warsi and his wife, Maria Goretti, asking them to provide civic staff access to the property to remove the illegal floor.”
Ward officer, Prashant Gaikwad has been quoted saying, “We will send a notice to him again and will remove the illegal floor.”
It was in 2012 that the actor bought the property from a retired Air India Captain. And while renovating the place, Warsi carried out the illegal construction. After complaints being filed from many people, BMC decided to demolish the construction back in 2013. But at that time the actor brought a stay order. It was recently when the court lifted the stay order, due to which the action has been taken against the actor.
