[imagebrowser id=215] MUMBAI: Bollywood star Deepika Padukone is on a roll. Her career is scaling new heights, her professional life is rocking, the brand endorsements keep trickling down her way and her personal life is perfect as well. She leads what we usually refer to as a charmed life. After her dream debut with Farah Khan’s superhit film in 2007, ‘Om Shanti Om’ opposite reigning superstar Shah Rukh Khan, she hasn’t looked back…

Another plum brand endorsement deal, which fell into Deepika’s kitty last year is still reaping rich dividends for the leggy lass, is Fiama Di Wills. Deepika was recently spotted at an event to launch Fiama Di Wills new signature collection, designed by Goan designer Wendell Rodricks. The soiree which was held over the weekend saw Deepika at her most glamorous best in a white off shoulder flowery gown, and an early 70’s style bouffant hairstyle.

She was at her wittiest and most candid best at the function. Cheekily posing and preening for the shutterbugs, including a mock proposal with a rose to contestant Dinesh Rasal, Deepika wowed the audience present at the event. Also spotted was designer Wendell in his trademark black tee, black blazer and light blue jeans.

Deepika masked a slight frustration when asked about her usually glamorous choice of roles. “I think the role is more important. It is a misconception that a glamorous role doesn’t require acting talent. It’s a bit strange, because I think at the end of the day; any kind of film — whether it is glamorous or ‘de-glam’ (non-glamorous) – requires acting. Acting is acting,” the chagrined star said.

“For example, people think I gave a brilliant performance as Veronica in ‘Cocktail’, but it was also a glamorous role. For me, it is about the role and the film, not glamour.”

We quickly steered the questions on to her brand endorsement deals, of which she has plenty, to avoid angering the pretty lady. Deepika smiled and maintained that “Today I could have easily been doing 15-20 brands at a time, but I chose not to do that. I chose to endorse the best in the market.”

Which inevitably led to us quizzing her about her fitness regimen and mantra in life. The actress was quick to point out, “It’s about the kind of lifestyle you lead. I can say that I have been the busiest in my career because I am juggling three films at a time. But I think I know how to conserve my energy, I know where to conserve it and spend it. I think things like my diet, workout, exercise, the water I drink and products I use add to me looking and feeling better,” she said.
