MUMBAI: Alia Bhatt and Isha Sharvani have turned into serial fashion police offenders. The two sizzling young Bollywood beauties have dared to break a sacrosanct fashion rule: never to wear a dress seen on another celebrity!
The ladies unabashedly broke fashion’s No. 1 rule, by choosing to don the same outfit, albeit at different events, in different points in time. In December, Isha Sharvani wowed us by appearing in a seemingly demure nude pink gown for the Golden Petal Awards. But when she turned around, we had to scrape our jaws off the floor: for the dress was entirely backless, revealing her ‘sexy back’! She naturally received tons of accolades and admiration for her bold sartorial choice that night.
And now it seems newbie Alia Bhatt is trying desperately to recreate the magic that was Isha Sharvani’s designer gown. We certainly can’t think of any other reason why she’d knowingly repeat another actresses’ dress, to a different function, nearly a month later! For we spotted Alia in the very same gown, adopting a very similar pose to that of Ms. Sharvani, at the Filmfare Nominations party held on Tuesday night.
On the red carpet, Alia strutted her stuff in the gown. At first, we thought it was just a similar gown looking at the front of the dress. However, when Alia turned around, pouting and posing for the cameras, we were shocked to see her in Isha’s gown! Not daring to believe it, we zoomed in for a closer look. And just as we’d feared, it was the selfsame gown!
Alia has now enrolled into our list as a fashion offender for sure. We only hope the young actress, who’s so far shown spunk and promise both when it comes to acting and her wardrobe, will take note of her offence and not turn into a repeat offender. God knows how awful it would be, to keep seeing Alia in outfits made famous by other Bollywood women!
