MUMBAI: Bollywood actress and wife of CCL team ‘Veer Marathi’ owner Ritesh Deshmukh, Genelia Deshmukh was the most enthusiastic cheerleader for her husband’s team at the CCL match on Sunday.

Looking pretty in the ‘Veer Marathi’ jersey, Genelia was spotted hooting and whistling and cheering husband Ritesh on, while he was on the field. In her repertoire of cheers was a little jig every time Ritesh hit a four or a six.

Soon, she covered up with a black jacket, as she was feeling a tad bit cold, but that didn’t dampen her spirits. She was soon seen waving the team’s flag and screaming the loudest to cheer on the Veer Marathi boys.

Also present at the match was Bhojpuri star Ravi Kishan, in a ‘Bhujpuri Dabanngs’ team jersey and Manoj Tiwari, also dressed in a jersey. Needless to say, the match was an electric show of strength and sportsmanship, and was very entertaining for the audiences.

And a little birdie revealed how difficult it was for Genelia’s husband Ritesh to play against his ex-teammates, the ‘Mumbai Heroes’. Said the now ‘Veer Marathi’ player, whose team is composed of Marathi film actors: “It’s not easy to play against the ‘Mumbai Heroes’ as they are my friends. I have played with them and worked in movies with them too. But I’m sure both the teams will play to win and the spirit of the game will be retained.”

The Mumbai team captain Suniel Shetty added, “On the field, we are rivals. As a captain, I feel I have lost my Sachin (Tendulkar) in Riteish. Also more than him, I miss (his wife) Genelia. She was the life of the team.”
