MUMBAI: The two new release this Friday: Bipasha Basu and Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer ‘Aatma’ as well as Jacky Bhagnani starrer ‘Rangrezz’ have both fared very poorly at their first day at the box office.

Wide Frame Pictures ‘Aatma’ directed by Suparn Verma is a psychological thriller about a single mother whose child is possessed by her dead husband.Unlike the previous horror film Bipasha did (Bhatt’s Raaz 3), this film has failed to garner attention at the ticket counter.

Despite some heavy duty promotions by the lead actress and the screening of a paid preview on Thursday, the opening collections of ‘Aatma’ have only scraped up to an approximate Rs 16.5 million(Rs 1.65 crore) net. Country wide the business is quite dull, with notable revenues coming in only from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Other release Vashu Bhagnani’s production ‘Rangrezz’ for his starry-eyed son, has also failed to launch on its first day.

Much like his previous release (Ajab Ghazabb Love) this Jacky Bhagnani starrer too has collected in the range of Rs 10 million (Rs 1 crore) net on Day 1.

Both films, reviews wise have also not done well. With such trending, the films ‘Aatma’ and ‘Rangezz’ don’t have much scope.
