BOX OFFICE: ‘Himmatwala’ Plummets On Day 2

UTV Motion Pictures’ ‘Himmatwala’, directed by Sajid Khan, starring Ajay Devgn and southern star Tamannaah, has picked up the pace on Day 2.

MUMBAI: UTV Motion Pictures’ ‘Himmatwala’, directed by Sajid Khan, starring Ajay Devgn and southern star Tamannaah, has plummeted on Day 2 at the box office.

As reported, ‘Himmatwala’ which released on a holiday – Good Friday March 29, 2013 – managed to garner  fair collections of approximately Rs 118.2 million (Rs 11.82 crore net) on Day 1. As expected, the film did better in mass circuits and single screen theatres, than in elite bigger cities.

On Day 2, however ‘Himmatwala’ plummeted. The horrible reviews the film has received across the board have perhaps not boded well for the Ajay Devgn starrer.

Taking close to a huge 30% drop, ‘Himmatwala’ made only about Rs 83.5 million (Rs 8.35 crore) net on Saturday.

It remains to be seen whether the film can withstand the heavy criticism against it, and do well at the ticketing windows.
