Shruti Sancheti’s label, ‘Pinnacle’ had much to offer with her collection titled, ‘Sufianna’. Inspired by Sufism and the Mughal era, the line was a spectacular take on the timeless and pristine beauty of the architecture as well as the richness of Islamic culture. Intricate floral cut-outs, voluminous asymmetrically cut silhouettes as dresses, kaftans, tunics, Anarkalis and trousers made of luxurious fabrics such as silk blends and mulmul radiated charming flamboyance in shades of white. Shruti Sancheti also made use of Turkish medallions which are connected to Sufism so as to add a richer cultural direction to her line. Carpet embroidery, Chikankari, ikat, along with lace and embellishments in pops of colour such as coral and turquoise gave her collection an authentic touch. Beaded namaaz caps with fringes, customised johlas, wedges and mojris were some of the accessories added to compliment her line. Perfect for the modern Indian woman, Shruti Sancheti’s “Sufianna” collection promised royal indulgence.
