Poll Result: Who Will Cross Mark In Dilwale VS Bajirao Mastani?

300-Croroe[tps_footer]Bollywood has offered two films this weekend, ‘Dilwale VS Bajirao Mastani’, out of which the latter might have a tough road ahead. We took a poll and asked you to answer which film according to you would cross the Rs. 300 crore mark among ‘Dilwale VS Bajirao Mastani‘. And as per the poll it is Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dilwale that has become the audience choice among the two films that are currently clashing at the box office. The poll results concluded with 68% people voting for Dilwale and only 32% for Bajirao Mastni. Much like the actual occupancy rates of both the films on its first day. Looking at the huge gap between the occupancy rates of the two films, it seems like the poll result might just come true.

In ‘Dilwale VS Bajirao Mastani‘, while the former has opened to a great start, it seems like the latter is lagging far behind in terms of the first day occupancy rates. Numbers look really scary for ‘Bajirao Mastani‘ which has got not even 50% occupancy rate of what ‘Dilwale’ has received. ‘Dilwale’ has 65% occupancy rate approximately and if this continues till the evening, the film will emerge as the front runner. ‘Bajirao Mastani’ has an occupancy rate of only 30% approx which is far less even by Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s standards.

However compared to this year’s previous big budget release ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo‘, ‘Dilwale’ is lagging behind in terms of advance sale. ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ had advance collections of around Rs. 22 crores net approx for the four day weekend. Whereas ‘Dilwale’ has an estimated advance collections of around Rs. 11 crores net approx for the three day weekend. Ratio wise ‘Dilwale’ has got 50% collection of ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, but only has 30% of the screenings that the previous film got. Hence the numbers are pretty good.

Given the opening rate and the areas dominated by the film, ‘Dilwale’ is easily looking at a first day collection of between Rs.20-30 crores net approx. It is hard to make predictions for ‘Bajirao Mastani‘ given the huge gap between the starting occupancy rates of both the films. With the poll result, it is become surer which film will emerge as the winner in ‘Dilwale VS Bajirao Mastani’.[/tps_footer]
