MUMBAI: Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has found himself a new high-profile admirer. And this admirer is none other than chairman and founder of software giant Microsoft- Bill Gates!
Bill Gates recently expressed a desire to meet with Aamir Khan, and discuss social issues in India. Gates’ charitable organisation, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, is currently conducting research to create new vaccines for prevalent diseases in the subcontinent.
Billionaire philanthropist and businessman Bill Gates is so impressed by Aamir, that he wants to meet the man. Last year, they had met briefly to discuss social evils, and Aamir had reportedly impressed the man so much that he’d like another meeting.
Gates posted on his blog, “I’m looking forward to meeting Aamir Khan, the Bollywood star and activist. I want to hear about his work as a UNICEF ambassador for child nutrition. I also want to hear about his TV show, ‘Satyamev Jayate’ …. And maybe, if I’m lucky, he’ll show me a few dance moves!”
Gates further added, “There’s a lot more on my plate. I want to say thanks in advance to everyone who’s making time to meet with me and making this trip happen.”
Aamir Khan’s has turned into a full-fledged social activist, after his TV show ‘Satyamev Jayate’ tackled various social evils in society. Last year, the show raised a number of social issues including female foeticide, dowry, child sex abuse etc.
The actor’s show inspired a number of people and also forced politicians to take a note of the issues highlighted by him.
